DIRECTIONS - CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS Allegany County Detention Center Inmates are unavailable between 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Contact visit in conference room normally possible by appointment. Take I-70 west to I-68 west to Cumberland. Exit 42 onto 220 south (don't take the 220 north exit, which is several miles earlier). The detention center is on the left about five miles down 220, just past Western Correctional Institution. Caroline County Detention Center It is not necessary to make an appointment, but they prefer that you come before or after lunch which is served between 11:00-11:30 a.m. Take Route 50 towards Ocean City. You will pass Chesapeake College. Go about 2 miles, and make a left on 404. Take the 404 Business Route about 12 miles into the town of Denton. Go two blocks, and make a left on Gay Street. Make the next left, and the building will be on the right on the water. It takes approximately 1 1/2 hours to get there from Baltimore. Visiting conditions: normally private contact visit. Central Virginia Regional Jail Interstate 95 South to Route 3 West at Fredericksburg. Approximately 15 miles on Route 3 to a left onto Route 20 South. About 15 miles on Route 20 into the town of Orange. At the stoplight, left onto Route 15 South (James Madison Highway). Jail is located a mile on the left, beside a Ford dealership and across from a Texaco station. Approximately 2 1/2 hours from Baltimore. Visiting hours: 8-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. Attorney's bar card, picture ID, and driver's license required. Charles County Detention Center It is not necessary to make an appointment, but they do not allow visitors during the following times: Lunch-11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; Shift change and head count at 3:00 p.m.; or Dinner-4:30-5:30 p.m. Take Route 50 to Route 301 South. The facility is 10 miles north of the Potomac River Bridge on 301 in La Plata. When you get to La Plata, there are only two red lights. Go through the second light (you will be travelling south on 301). The facility is about 1/4 mile down on the right-hand side. You will pass a Ford dealership. They are in the new facility behind the sheriff's office. It takes approximately 1 hour to get there from Baltimore.
Eastern Correctional Institution (ECI) Take Route 50 towards Ocean City to Salisbury. Take Route 13 South. The institution is approximately 15-20 minutes after you turn onto Route 13, just beyond Princess Anne. It will be on your right. It takes approximately 3 hours to get there from Baltimore. Visiting conditions: normally private contact visit.
FCI Cumberland Visiting Hours: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 4:00-8:30 p.m. only. Attorney Visits: As of 6/00 - Attorney visits need to be made 48 hours in advance. A letter needs to be faxed the appropriate Case Manager with the following information: names of people (atty) attending visit; address, telephone number and bar number. They will call and advise if visit is approved. Visiting conditions: private contact visit. Kent County Detention Center Directions: Take the Bay Bridge to 301 North to 213 North Exit @ "Chestertown 2nd Right". Drive thru Centreville into Chestertown. Cross Chester River Bridge; make a left onto Rte. 291 @ 6th light after the bridge; bear right at end of Rte. 291; take first right onto Rte. 514. Detention Center is on the left less than 1 mile. Visiting conditions: normally private contact visit.
Maryland Correctional Adjustment Center
("Supermax") Visits without appointment between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Visits may be approved for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm by application by FAX (including client's name, register number, and visit time) to Major Wainwright at 410-332-4561. Visiting conditions: conversation through screen in full glass partition in visiting cubicle.
Maryland Correctional
Institution-Hagerstown (MCIH) Visiting Hours for Attorneys: Monday-Friday: 9:00-11:00 a.m./1:00-3:00 p.m. (For private room). Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance through case management. No appointments are necessary for regular visiting days-Saturday & Sunday. Directions: Take 70 West to Hagerstown. Take Exit 29. Go to the bottom of the ramp, and make a left on Route 65. Go 4 miles south on Route 65. At the blinking yellow light (Roxbury Road), make a left. Go 1/4 of a mile on Roxbury Road. MCIH will be on the right. Maryland Correctional
Institution-Jessup (MCIJ) Directions: Take 95 South to Route 175 West-towards Jessup. After the first light, go about 3/4 mile and make your first left onto Maryland House of Correction Road. Go to the guardhouse and they will direct you to MCIJ. Attorney Visiting Hours: 2:00-8:00 p.m. If you need to visit in the morning, they will try to accommodate you. Fax visitation request to "Shirley" w/ inmate's name and I.D. No., date and time you would like to visit, and exactly who is visiting. Fax No. (410) 799-7527. Visiting conditions: normally semi-private contact in visiting room. Northern Neck Regional Jail Take either I-95 or Md. Rt. 301 (most prefer 301) south to Va. Route 17 South. Follow Route 17 to Tappahannock. At second stoplight, take left onto 360 East. Follow 360 4-5 miles. Driveway to the facility is just after a "Welcome to Warsaw" sign on the right. Attorney visiting hours: Any day between 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 -4:00 p.m. You must have a bar card and picture ID to be admitted to the facility. Visiting conditions: by appointment, normally private contact visit; if no appointment, non-contact (and sometimes a wait).
Northeast Ohio Correctional Center Patuxent Institution From Baltimore, take I-95 South (from DC, I-95 North) to the Columbia/Jessup exit. Go left towards Jessup. You will be on 175 East. Go through two red lights. After the second red light, you will see the institution on your left right off the road. Visiting conditions: normally private contact visit. Queen Anne's County Detention
Center Take Route 50 East. Where 50 splits with 301, stay left on 301 North. Go about 8 miles to the 2nd exit on the right which will take you into the town of Centreville. Go about 4 1/2 miles into town until you hit a fork in the road. Bear to the left. Make a right onto Water Street. Go about 1/4 of a mile. You will see the Sheriff's Department on the left and an apartment complex a little further down. Make a left into Hunter Park Apartments. Go about 200 yards. The detention center will be on the right-hand side. Visiting Hours: You must make an appointment with Captain Eason for the visiting room. You cannot visit on Monday, Wednesday or Friday mornings or on the weekends. Attorneys can visit at any other time as long as an appointment is made through her. Visiting conditions: normally private contact visit in library; otherwise via phone through glass. Roxbury Correctional Institution Directions: Take 70 West to Hagerstown. Get off 70 West at the Sharpsburg Exit (Rt. #65-Exit 29 South). Turn left onto Rt. #65. Proceed approximately 3-4 miles to Roxbury Road. Turn left onto Roxbury Road and proceed about one (1) mile to RCI entrance road on the right. Follow sign to the Visitor's Parking area. Attorney Visits: As of 6/00, visits only MONDAYS and FRIDAYS, between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Should call at least 24 hours in advance. Talbot County Detention Center For attorney appointments: Contact the administrative office at 410-770-8120 to make an appointment for visitation.Take Route 50 East towards Ocean City. About 16 miles after the 50/301 split, exit onto Easton Parkway, Rt. 322. At the fourth light, left onto Bay Street. Then third right onto North West Street, and right again onto West Dover Street. The facility is the second building on the right, marked as "Public Safety Center" on the outside. It takes approximately 1 1/2 hours to get there from Baltimore. Visiting conditions: partial glass partition, but normal private conversation can be maintained. Full contact visits can be accommodated on advance requests under certain conditions. Center Take 70 West to 81 North. Take the Route 40 East exit into Hagerstown. Make a right at the first light -Western Maryland Parkway. This is a dead-end street. The facility is the next to the last building on the left. Visiting conditions: private contact visit.
Wicomico County Detention
Center Directions: Once across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, stay on Route 50 toward Salisbury. About 15 miles after Vienna, bear left onto the Salisbury bypass, then exit onto Naylor Mill Road. Department of Corrections is approximately three miles on the left. Visiting conditions: private contact visit, though clients will be handcuffed to the wall. |
